Last weekend kriyavans from all over Texas celebrated Easter at the Temple of Compassion with a program honoring Jesus, His teachings, and His Passion during the annual three day Easter Silent Retreat.

The special program was designed to provide space for and guide participants as they went deep into their meditation, silence, and their unique, individual experience of and connection with the Divine.

Included in this special program were three extended guided meditations every day, seva, group readings, encouraged contemplation and time in nature out on the 104 acres of the ashram.

The longer meditations and weekend of silence was such an enriching experience. I got so much out of it,” said a kiryavan from Austin.

“I have been to silent retreats before, even in India. None were are powerful as this,” said another Austin kriyavan.

“I loved the silence and the way it corresponded with Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. I’ve never felt so close to Jesus as I did this weekend. I feel like He is going home with me. ” said a kriyavan from Dallas

Vikram G from Dallas says, “Meditative sessions and insightful scripture study gave me new insights into the teachings and life of Jesus Christ, something every spiritual aspirant could benefit from. This program also featured reconnecting with nature. Observing silence helped me deeper into myself. And of course some quality cow time with the Brahman cows. I hope to return to ToC for Easter celebrations every year if God and Gurus will let me.
